Substitute Teacher

2018-present

I am currently a substitute teacher with the Red Deer and Wolfcreek public school districts and Living Truth Christian School. Since September I have taught in all grades ( k-12) with the majority of the grades being between K-4.​Through this experience I have learned more about classroom management, organization, different schedules, and most of all diversity of students, teachers and schools.

Kindergarten Teacher

I was a full time kindergarten teacher at Koinonia Christian school. Through this year I communicated well with students, teachers and parents, and followed the Alberta curriculum, differentiating to children with special needs. I organized field trips to Kerry Wood Nature Center, the Fire hall, the Hospital and Safety City. I also organized a Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony and a field day at the end of the year. I also created IPPs for both kindergarten and preschool students.

For half the year I was also a preschool teacher in the mornings. Here I would do testing such as Kindergarten readiness. 

I learned so much throughout the year that I believe I am a better teacher now than when I started.

Educational Assistant

​2015 - 2015

​

​From January to May in Bentley school I was an educational assistant for a boy in grade 8.  During this time I also assisted in a Grade 3 class, Grade 8 foods,  as well as Grade 9-12 math and social studies. I also helped a group of students with Grade 8 math and reading. This position was short lived due to the boy moving away and his funding moving with him.

Daycare Provider

​

I worked  at Mighty Owls Daycare in Sylvan Lake. Here I worked in the infant room, toddler room and preschool room. I would read and teach them concepts at their level as well as take them of field trips to parks.
